• Come tutti I materiali strutturali anche gli FRP devono essere:
‐ identificati univocamente dal Produttore/Fornitore;
‐ certificati sotto la responsabilità dello stesso Produttore/Fornitore;
‐ accettati dal Direttore dei Lavori attraverso l’acquisizione e la verifica di tutti i documenti forniti dal Produttore/Fornitore, come pure attraverso l’esecuzione di prove di accettazione.
• I sistemi di rinforzo FRP sono classificati sulla base delle seguenti due proprietà meccaniche, entrambe nella direzione delle fibre: resistenza a trazione e modulo di elasticità normale. Nel caso dei sistemi preformati (lamine pultruse) tali proprietà sono riferite alla sezione retta complessiva del composito (matrice e fibre); nel caso dei sistemi impregnati in situ le stesse proprietà sono invece riferite alla sezione complessiva delle sole fibre secche.
• Sono previste sia prove del tipo Initial Type Testing (ITT) che del tipo Factory Production Control (FPC)

• I valori del modulo elastico e della resistenza a trazione devono essere opportunamente stabili nei confronti del degrado di origine ambientale.
• Le Istruzioni prevedono specifiche prove su campioni soggetti a cicli di gelo-disgelo come pure ad invecchiamento artificiale.
• I campioni condizionati devono esibire valori delle proprietà caratteristiche almeno pari all’85% di quelli esibiti da campioni di controllo.

• Il testo delle Istruzioni è stato inoltre arricchito con i calcoli relativi alla verifica e al dimensionamento del sistema di rinforzo FRP dei maschi murari di una parete perimetrale di un edificio di muratura a tre piani.
• L’esempio è articolato nei seguenti punti:
‐ geometria, caratteristiche dei materiali e sollecitazioni;
‐ verifica a pressoflessione dei maschi murari preesistenti;
‐ dimensionamento del sistema di rinforzo FRP a pressoflessione;
‐ verifica a taglio dei maschi murari preesistenti;
‐ dimensionamento del sistema di rinforzo FRP a taglio.
